intro.jpgWelcome to Anatomy and Physiology Class. “Introduction to Anatomy and Physiology is a one semester tour of our human bodies and how they function, from the cell and molecular level all the way up to the whole organism (you!) (Academic Departments, 2014).” I am excited to embark on this journey together with each and every one of you! It is funny how little we know about something we spend time with each and every day (our bodies). Sit back and enjoy the ride of information. If at all you ever have a question please do not hesitate to contact me. I am here for you! Anatomy & Physiology involve the study of the human body, detailing how each area functions and relates to the body as a whole. “AP covers the basics of human anatomy and physiology including anatomical terminology, basic biochemistry, cells and tissues, and the integumentary, skeletal, muscular, nervous, endocrine, cardiovascular, lymphatic/immune, respiratory, digestive, urinary, and reproductive systems. Introduces common human disease processes. (Academics Anatomy-Physiology (AP), 2014).”

“Delivery of course materials includes lectures (including multiple sessions focusing on common medical imaging techniques such as x-ray, CT and MRI), homework assignments that serve as the starting points for in-class discussions, case study assignments (in which students research the symptoms, diagnostic tests, treatments, and typical outcomes of common disease processes), student presentations, and anything else that works (Ritter, 2014).” “Lectures focus on physiology and rely on lecture videos, exercises and assigned reading. Labs focus on anatomy studied from a 3D interactive anatomy program available online, images, drawings and lab videos introducing the anatomical parts of the system covered in the given week (Li, 2014).” A course overview can be found at: Introduction to the Course
